LGS's LifeNet - nets are proven to be the worlds most effective tool
against the spread of malaria, they've been proven to cut child
mortality by 50%.

Ninety per cent of all malaria cases are in Sub-Saharan Africa,
although it is endemic in parts of Asia, Central and South
America, Oceania and certain Carribean islands, and is now
spreading to new countries, such as Russia,Turkey and the USA.
There are four main types of malaria, all spread by female
mosquitoes. Symptoms include high fever, sweating and shaking
chills and more serious cases can lead to anaemia, kidney and
brain damage, coma and death.

Attempts over the years to keep the disease under control have
been largely unsuccessful and the number of people dying from
malaria continues to increase.

Despite huge investment, the vaccines so far produced have not
proved sufficiently effective, but according to WHO figures,
bednets coated in insecticide have reduced the incident of the
disease by up to 35%.
